Floating and Submerged Plants

 Hornwart & Anacharis

These are excellent submerged, oxygenating aquatic plants, that greatly enhance water quality, and reduce nutrients that algae depend upon.  We use them as free-floating plants, but they may also be potted or weighted down.  They are both excellent nutrition sources and natural "egg mats" for fish!    For the Anacharis, if it is allowed to float to the warm surface water, masses of tiny white flowers will appear just above the water level July through August/September.
